For the past 25 years, Sari has been a recognized leader in privacy and data protection, bringing her deep in-house and law firm experience to counseling clients of all sizes and geographic footprints, covering both national and international privacy laws and regulations, and cross-border data transfers. Sari’s advisory practice spans the development and implementation of comprehensive privacy and data protection programs, and includes guidance on data governance, strategy, and information management. Sari has particular expertise in privacy and data protection as they pertain to healthcare, life sciences, biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, telehealth, and digital health.

Sari has considerable experience advising public, private, and startup companies. As global chief privacy officer for the world’s largest biotechnology company, Sari and her team established global privacy protocols in more than 75 countries. As head of Privacy and Data Governance for the world’s first on-demand, text-based, and AI-supported primary care telehealth clinic and its associated software as a service (SAAS) platform, Sari guided the company in the implementation of a comprehensive privacy program covering HIPAA and state privacy laws and regulations. During her years practicing at an AmLaw 100 law firm, Sari crafted bespoke privacy solutions to complex data challenges, including for processing historical data to train machine learning (ML) tools powering new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

Sari is a frequent contributor and speaker in the international privacy professional community, and is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), through which she has earned the status of a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the European Union (CIPP-E) and United States (CIPP-US). Sari is also a former board member of the International Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Privacy Consortium (IPMPC). Before expanding her practice to include privacy and data protection, Sari was a corporate healthcare lawyer in private practice and served as legislative counsel for the American Medical Association.
