Stephen M. Graham served as a Fenwick corporate and securities partner before retiring from the partnership in 2022, becoming partner emeritus. He founded the firm’s Seattle office in 2008. Prior to working at Fenwick, he was a corporate and securities partner at two AmLaw 50 firms. At one of which, Stephen founded the firm’s Seattle office and served as chair of its global Corporate Practice Group. Currently, Stephen is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Washington Federal Bank (NASDAQ:WAFD), the largest bank headquartered in Washington ($20 billion in assets). He focuses much of his time on mentoring youth and young professionals.
Stephen has been recognized by Chambers USA as one of the top corporate and mergers and acquisitions lawyers in Washington. He is also a “Super Lawyer” award recipient, 2000–2022. In 2019, Stephen was appointed to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Advisory Committee on Small Business Capital Formation and co-chaired the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies from 2011 to 2017.
Stephen is active in community affairs, currently serving on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and the National Board of Director of Friends of the Children, where he is Chairman. He received his B.S. from Iowa State University and his J.D. from the Yale University School of Law.
