Ian is a business lawyer with more that 25 years of experience advising industry-leading emerging growth companies in the technology and life sciences industries, as well as the venture capital and strategic investors that fund the innovation ecosystem. He is also an established and effective leader at Fenwick, currently serving on its Executive Committee and serving as a Co-Leader of its Startup and Venture Capital Practice.

Ian serves as a trusted business advisor to dozens of founders and executives and their growing businesses and boards of directors, and in that capacity he actively leads teams of Fenwick lawyers in providing critical transactional and advisory legal services and client support across all of the core legal support areas for his startup clients. In addition, he actively represents dozens of venture capital and corporate venture capital funds in fund formations, venture investments, and general advisory matters, and is a leading expert to the corporate venture capital community.
