Sofia focuses her practice on international trade regulatory matters. She handles national security reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), foreign ownership, control and influence (FOCI) reviews for companies with security clearances, and other direct foreign investment regulatory matters. In addition, Sofia focuses her practice on export controls, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), as well as economic sanctions programs administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Sofia advises clients in the context of regulatory proceedings before various federal agencies, due diligence for corporate transactions, and in the conduct and resolution of internal investigations and responses to U.S. government inquiries.
Prior to joining Fenwick, Sofia worked at leading international law firm.
While attending law school, Sofia was a member of the Georgetown Law Technology Review.
