Paul Famiglietti focuses his practice exclusively on intellectual property, trademark, and branding. He uses his strategic and practical legal skills to help clients achieve their business goals across all stages of the brand development life cycle, including global trademark clearance and use, registration, trade dress protection, enforcement and portfolio analysis.

Trusted by some of the world’s leading organizations, as well as the next wave of entrepreneurs and builders, Paul works with clients to develop and protect valued brands in the technology and life sciences fields, in particular advising clients on trademark issues relating to emerging technology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices and services.

Growing up in a medical family and married to a physician and clinical investigator, Paul understands the challenges faced by new and established organizations in the healthcare sector, and he relishes the opportunity to learn about his clients’ business goals, problem-solve, and make his clients’ lives easier.

In disputes, Paul achieves strong, decisive wins for his clients in infringement claims, cease and desist matters, trademark oppositions and cancellation actions, and domain name disputes. When settling disputes, Paul counsels clients toward simple yet significant agreements that minimize the risk of litigation, so his clients can focus on growing their businesses.

Paul’s transactional track record includes negotiating favorable trademark licenses and assignments, advising on intellectual property issues related to commercial agreements, conducting portfolio audits, and due diligence analysis.

Outside the office, Paul enjoys volunteering for community organizations and international IP publications, including the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) Bulletins Committee and the Intellectual Property Owners Association’s (IPO) committee on Anti-Counterfeiting and Anti-Piracy. In law school, Paul conducted research for a leading law and technology professor and was involved in related student organizations.
