Carmen advises technology and life sciences companies on a broad variety of labor and employment matters.

Prior to joining Fenwick, Carmen worked as employment counsel for a multinational automotive and clean energy company, where she provided strategic, high-level employment legal advice and guidance to various internal business and HR teams. Before that, she was an associate attorney for an Am Law 100 firm where she regularly defended clients in arbitration proceedings and before the DFEH, EEOC, and California Labor Commissioner in matters alleging wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, failure to engage in the interactive process, and other employment related claims. Carmen also has experience defending privately held companies in employment matters, class-actions, competitor disputes, breach of contract claims, defamation, toxic torts, trespass/nuisance actions and personal injury lawsuits in state and federal court.
