Brennan is a patent agent in Fenwick’s intellectual property and life sciences groups. He applies his scientific and legal training toward drafting, prosecuting, and securing patent rights for clients in the chemical, biotechnological, and pharmaceutical arts. Brennan has experience in process chemistry, medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, polymers, catalysis, and pharmaceutical formulations. Brennan also assists with preparation of legal opinions, e.g., patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity opinions, and conducts due diligences of patent estates.
Brennan’s graduate and post-graduate scientific work focused on the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of antibiotics, antivirals, antineoplastics, opioids, neurotoxins, dyes, and other tools in the fields of synthetic chemistry and chemical biology.
