Ana works on privacy and security issues at the cutting-edge of technology, advising clients across various industries and sectors—including technology, retail, and healthcare—with nascent issues related to facial recognition, biometric scanning, artificial intelligence, and location tracking. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional with the International Association of Privacy Professionals and has extensive experience advising clients both in the U.S. and internationally. Ana is well-versed on the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other similar U.S. state privacy laws, the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and other federal regulations. Ana regularly counsels digital health and tech companies with a particular focus on HIPAA compliance, including advising on the Privacy Rule, Security Rule, and Business Associate Agreements.

Ana assists companies in assessing their legal obligations and risks, helping to design and implement practical, cost-effective, and innovative solutions. She advises on the development and implementation of privacy and data security policies and practices, data transfer and sharing agreements, and data protection addenda, while also providing strategic advice and negotiating transactional documents in corporate transactions, including M&A and venture capital financings.
