Fenwick corporate partner Dawn Belt was named one of The Recorder’s Women Leaders in Tech Law for 2017.
The Recorder noted that Belt helped represent data storage provider Nimble Storage in its $1.2 billion acquisition by Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Asked whether lawyers bear any special responsibility in addressing gender stereotyping and discrimination in tech, she told The Recorder, “I think all leaders have the responsibility to be self-aware, set a good example and be open-minded about identifying talent.”
Belt advises technology companies on a broad range of general corporate and complex transactional matters, including startup counseling, venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, SEC compliance and corporate governance.
Belt was also named to Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 2017 Women of Influence list, which honors Silicon Valley's 100 most influential women. She is one of five Fenwick partners honored by The Recorder this year, the most honorees from any organization being recognized.
