Fenwick has been recognized with the Spirit of Hope Award by the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) as part of their Pro Bono Awards. This award acknowledges the firm's pro bono volunteers and their significant contributions to immigration advocacy through collaborative clinics with NYLAG’s Immigration Protection Unit.
At the award ceremony, Hilarie Atkisson, Senior Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Pro Bono Counsel at Fenwick, accepted the accolade on behalf of the firm.
Additionally, litigation associate Deanna Thompson received special recognition at the event for her efforts to champion the NYLAG Housing Part Clinics in Red Hook and uplift local communities.
NYLAG is a leading civil legal services organization combatting economic, racial, and social injustices by advocating for people experiencing poverty or in crisis. Over the past year, NYLAG put on a record breaking 117 legal clinics, contributing 93,000 hours to clients totaling a value of $46 million worth of services.
