Mountain View, CA (May 2, 2016)– Fenwick & West is pleased to announce that the firm and several partners have been shortlisted for Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Americas Women in Business Law Awards. The awards honor the top lawyers in various practice areas as well as recognizing firms for the best initiatives in areas ranging from mentoring to pro bono work.
Euromoney honored tax partner Jennifer Fuller on the shortlist for the best work in both tax and tax dispute resolution. A Fenwick tax partner for more than 20 years, Fuller plays an instrumental role in Fenwick’s tax practice. The firm has represented more than 50 of the Fortune 100 and more than 100 of the Fortune 500 companies in federal tax matters. Fuller’s recent work includes large corporate tax litigation and M&A matters, including work on the widely-publicized “inversion” transactions.
Cindy Hess, Fenwick’s startup and venture capital co-chair, was shortlisted for recognition as the best technology lawyer. The hottest emerging and established technology companies look to Hess’s strong business and legal experience for their corporate transactional matters, from formation and venture capital financing to mergers, acquisitions and public offerings. This year, the Daily Journal named Hess among California’s top women lawyers, and The Recorder honored her among the top 10 most trusted corporate counselors on its Trusted Advisors list.
Euromoney also honored two partners from Fenwick’s intellectual property group, shortlisting trademark partner Karen Webb among the best trademark lawyers and patent partner Antonia Sequeira for recognition as a rising star in intellectual property law. Webb focuses her practice on international trademark and domain protection and development, advising clients on brand creation, selection, protection, expansion, and enforcement. In both 2015 and 2016, World Trademark Review honored Webb as a leading California lawyer in trademark prosecution and strategy as well as enforcement and litigation. Sequeira focuses her practice on patent prosecution and building of patent portfolios for emerging and established technology companies in the medical device, digital health, and software areas. She was recently named one of Silicon Valley’s Most Influential Women in Business by the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
Fenwick is among a shortlist of firms recognized in North America for the best gender diversity initiative and the best national mentoring program. Euromoney also shortlisted Fenwick as the best firm in North America for diversity, work-life balance and pro bono work, and also honored Fenwick on the shortlist for the top law firm on the West Coast.
