The Immigration Justice Campaign (IJC) awarded Fenwick with its Law Firm of the Month Award in recognition of the firm’s significant pro bono work with Afghan immigrants in refugee clinics. A Fenwick team developed a technology system to help track the influx of Afghan clients in need of assistance with their humanitarian parole applications.
In August 2021, Fenwick’s Labs and Knowledge & Innovation teams adapted a legal services software solution originally developed to handle mass client arbitration matters and tailored it to the needs of Afghan citizens fleeing danger in the wake of the U.S. military’s exit from Afghanistan. More than 50 Fenwick attorneys and staff worked on hundreds of humanitarian parole applications.
Fenwick also received the 2022 National Public Service Award from the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section, in part, for the innovative software used to help Afghans seek refuge outside of their home country.
