Fenwick has been named to Crain’s New York Business’ (Crain’s) Best Places to Work for the fourth year in a row. The repeat achievement underscores the firm’s trajectory of success in New York since the tech and life sciences-focused firm opened the office just six years ago. Fenwick is one of 100 companies on the list, which recognizes companies across an array of industries throughout New York City that have built and maintained a positive corporate culture and workplace experience.
Since launching in New York in 2016, the office has scaled to keep pace with the rapid growth of its tech and life sciences client base in the city and around the globe. The office has since grown from eight lawyers to more than 110 lawyers who advise many of New York’s most innovative companies, including Buzzfeed, Compass, Passage Bio and Peloton.
A Best Place to Work
As the firm continues to grow its presence in New York, it has sustained a diverse community of professionals and an open culture where talented people thrive and collaborate.
The health, wellness and safety of the entire Fenwick team is a top priority. The firm navigated the pandemic with a high degree of flexibility around returning to the office and has continued to support flexible schedules for individuals in 2022. Employees received continued support while working from home, including stipends for in-home office or wellbeing purchases as well as for tutoring and childcare. The firm has also provided pre- and post-leave support for new parents through the Fenwick Parental Reintegration Program and has continued to see more fathers taking advantage of the firm’s parental leave benefits.
Building and maintaining a culture of allyship and inclusion is also critical for the overall wellness of the firm. This past year, Fenwick's 13 affinity and employee resource groups hosted numerous events and outside speakers on key diversity topics. Fenwick also launched a governing DEI Steering Board to prioritize firmwide DEI initiatives.
