Mountain View, CA (March 17, 2013) – Fenwick & West is pleased to announce that the firm was honored with two awards at this year’s M&A Atlas Awards for Global M&A Major Markets on May 9. Out of a “highly competitive” pool of applicants, Fenwick was recognized for “achiev[ing] the highest standards of excellence” in its work on deals in two award categories: “Global M&A Deal of the Year” and “Technology & Services Deal of the Year.”
Fenwick’s representation of Facebook in its $1 billion acquisition of Instagram was named the “Global M&A Deal of the Year” in the $1-5 billion category. The Fenwick team was led by mergers and acquisitions partner Greg Roussel, who attended the ceremony and accepted the awards on behalf of Fenwick.
Fenwick was also honored with “Technology & Services Deal of the Year” for its work on behalf of Cisco Systems, Inc. in its $5 billion acquisition of U.K.-based NDS Group Ltd. A Fenwick team led by mergers and acquisitions co-chair Doug Cogen and partner Kris Withrow represented Cisco in the acquisition. The deal was also named one of the top 10 M&A deals in California in 2012 by theDaily Journal.
In October 2012, Fenwick took home two middle market M&A Atlas awards for “Large Mid Markets Technology & Telecom Deal of the Year” and “M&A Middle Markets Deal of the Year.”
