Fenwick Bolsters Regulatory Practice, Welcomes Antitrust Counsel Meredith Mommers in Washington, DC

Fenwick today announced Meredith Mommers has joined the firm as counsel in the regulatory practice and antitrust group. She is based in Fenwick’s Washington, DC office.

Mommers has extensive experience advising global clients on antitrust matters throughout the lifecycle of large-scale transactions. Her expertise spans risk assessment, transaction negotiations, multi-jurisdictional filings and coordination, second request strategy and management, and advocacy before the FTC and DOJ.

“We are delighted to welcome Meredith to Fenwick,” said Mark Ostrau, chair of the firm’s regulatory practice. “With an impressive track record of handling high-profile, multi-jurisdictional transactions with precision and efficiency, Meredith’s strategic insight will further enhance the tailored support we provide, helping our clients succeed even in the most challenging regulatory environments.”

Before joining Fenwick, Mommers was counsel at a prominent law firm focused on global antitrust issues. Earlier in her career, she interned at the National Criminal Enforcement Section of the DOJ, Antitrust Division in Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA.

Reflecting on her move to the firm, Mommers commented, “Fenwick offers an incredible opportunity to work alongside some of the most cutting-edge legal professionals in tech and life sciences. I look forward to utilizing my deep experience across these sectors to help our clients effectively navigate the current regulatory landscape and successfully achieve their strategic business objectives.”

Mommers’ arrival continues the firm’s broadening presence in the Washington, DC region and the growth of its regulatory practice. Over the last several years, the firm’s DC office has welcomed antitrust partners Tom Ensign and Steve Albertson, trade and national security partners Melissa Duffy and Robert Slack, government contracts partners Joyce Tong Oelrich and Zohra Tejani, and privacy and cybersecurity partner Michael Sussmann. The team has also added corporate regulatory and insurtech partner Heidi Lawson and privacy and cybersecurity partner Dave Feder in New York, deepening its East Coast bench. Additionally, the firm has strengthened its regulatory capabilities on the West Coast with the addition of healthcare regulatory partner Jennifer Yoo in Santa Monica, and most recently, former Assistant U.S. Attorney Ben Kingsley, who joined in September as a government investigations partner in San Francisco.
