Seattle, WA (February 4, 2020) – Fenwick & West today announced that Byron Dailey has joined the firm as a corporate partner in its Seattle office.
Dailey joins Fenwick’s top-ranked corporate practice, where he will lead the firm’s private investment funds practice advising private equity, venture capital, corporate VC and other investment fund clients on structuring new funds and fund managers and supporting the fundraising and investment process in a wide variety of transactions and structures.
“Investing in key practice areas and markets to better serve our technology and life sciences clients continues to be one of our top strategic priorities,” Fenwick corporate practice chair Alan Smith said. “With the rapid growth of private capital markets, our investor clients will appreciate our expanded capabilities in fund formation. Byron’s success in this area and his responsive, practical and business-oriented counsel make him an ideal fit.”
Dailey focuses on investment fund formation transactions and counseling, advising clients on every type of fund formation at all stages and sizes, including venture capital, private equity and corporate venture capital. As a corporate, securities and M&A attorney with almost 20 years of experience structuring and negotiating domestic and international business transactions, he also handles mergers and acquisitions, nonprofits, social enterprises, corporate, securities and commercial matters.
Dailey is experienced working with many complex limited partnerships, limited liability companies, B corporations and impact investing structures. At his prior firm, he chaired the private investment funds practice, while also co-chairing the nonprofit & social enterprise practice.
“Fenwick’s focus on serving tech and life sciences clients was a major draw and a clear strategic differentiator,” said Dailey. “I’m thrilled to join Fenwick. The firm’s corporate team and collaborative culture are a great fit for my practice and for my clients.”
