When you want to understand the unique risks that innovative companies face, just ask former FBI leadership.
Fenwick partner Jonathan Lenzner joined Bloomberg Intelligence’s Votes & Verdicts podcast to discuss how his time as chief of staff to the FBI director endeared him to tech, and how he applies his experience at the FBI and as a former prosecutor to help innovators anticipate and manage complex emerging legal issues.
“We had to understand how new and emerging technologies could be used to harm Americans and American companies—so, in order to do that, we would work closely with companies that were developing these new technologies,” Lenzner told hosts Elliott Stein and Nathan Dean in a wide-ranging interview covering AI, cybersecurity, digital assets, drones, TikTok, and the risks of doing business in China.
"[W]e saw up close how impactful many of these new technologies are—not only with national security and defense, also with healthcare, economic security,” he added. “So, I wanted to make sure that in my next role, I had an opportunity to work with companies who are continuing to develop these impactful technologies.
