Fenwick corporate partner Jennifer Hitchcock has been named to this year’s list of Rising Stars in capital markets by Law360, for having “helped guide major transactions involving companies across a range of industries such as technology, life sciences and banking.” Law360’s Rising Stars series honors attorneys under 40 whose legal accomplishments transcend their age.
Hitchcock was part of a Fenwick team that advised Coinbase, the first major crypto company to go public, in its April 2021 direct listing on Nasdaq. In her feature, Hitchcock noted “the novel legal aspects (of the direct listing), like working with the company to host an ‘ask me anything’ forum on the social media site Reddit.”
She said she got into capital markets law “because she enjoys the collaborative nature of the work and how it lends itself to building long-lasting relationships.” When asked what she’s watching for in the market, Hitchcock said she “expects a greater focus in coming years on environmental, social and governance factors…and expects advising on ESG issues to continue to make up a more significant part of her practice.”
Silicon Valley-based Hitchcock advises technology and life sciences clients on capital markets as well as general public company corporate matters.
Earlier this year, Law360 named Fenwick’s Capital Markets Group among its practice groups of the year.
