The Daily Journal has recognized Fenwick tax partner Larissa Neumann and patent partner Antonia Sequeira among the Top 100 Women Lawyers of 2017. The Daily Journal’s annual list honors the most outstanding women lawyers in California.
Larissa Neumann: A Go-to Tax Attorney for Tech and Multinational Companies
Neumann was lauded by the Daily Journal for her work with a noteworthy list of leading corporations that includes Facebook, Dropbox, Canadian restaurant giant Tim Hortons and French pharmaceutical company Aventis Agriculture AS. Neumann, whose specializes in transfer pricing, started at Fenwick as a summer associate.
The Daily Journal highlighted Neumann’s work for Facebook in the company’s $2 billion acquisition of virtual reality headset maker Oculus VR and her role as special counsel to Tim Hortons in its $11.4 billion transaction with Burger King in 2015.
In addition to writing articles on national and international tax law, Neumann mentors new tax associates at Fenwick and students at UC Berkeley School of Law, where she teaches international tax law. TheDaily Journal noted that she also dedicates between 100 and 200 hours a year doing pro bono work.
Antonia Sequeira: A Leading Patent Lawyer Assisting Clients with Cutting-Edge Technologies
TheDaily Journal heralded Antonia Sequeira as “a leader among women in patent law, a field still dominated by men.”
The Daily Journal recognized Sequeira, who helps protect client’s software and internet technologies, including those involving social networking, online advertising, telemedicine, computer security and e-commerce, for the work she and the patent team she manages handle across a wide range of innovative technologies.
Some of those include a virtual reality systems in the medical and digital health spaces and software that assists doctors in choosing optimal radiation treatment plans for cancer patients.
Sequeira is lead outside counsel for Facebook, in charge of protecting many of the company’s most valuable technologies, the Daily Journal reported. Some of Sequeira’s other clients include Mynosys Cellular Devices, LELO Inc., Cipherome and Coursera.
