Fenwick Represents Niantic in its Pending $3.5B Acquisition by Scopely and PIF

Fenwick is representing Niantic, a leading augmented reality and mobile real-world company, in its pending $3.5 billion acquisition by Scopely, a developer of an interactive entertainment platform intended to create and publish a diverse portfolio of immersive content, and the Public Investment Fund.

Scopely’s focus on building live services and investments in player engagement will ensure continued support for the development of Niantic’s games and player communities. As part of the transaction, Niantic’s pioneering geospatial AI business will be spun-off into a new company, Niantic Spatial, Inc., and will receive $250 million in investment from Niantic and Scopely.
