Fenwick Represents Lightspeed Venture Partners in Lead Investment in Anthropic’s $3.5B Series E Financing

Fenwick represented Lightspeed Venture Partners, a multi-stage venture capital firm, in Anthropic’s $3.5 billion Series E financing. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Cisco Investments, D1 Capital Partners, Fidelity Management & Research Company, General Catalyst, Jane Street, Menlo Ventures, and Salesforce Ventures, and other new and existing investors.

Anthropic, an AI startup known for developing advanced AI models like the Claude series of large language models, will use the funds to advance its development of next-generation AI systems, expand its compute capacity, deepen its research in mechanistic interpretability and alignment, and accelerate its international expansion.
