Fenwick & West represented Allied Security Trust (AST), a consortium of 26 member-investor companies, in its purchase of an agreement to buy and license all of the patents of MIPS Technologies (Nasdaq: MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores for home entertainment, networking, mobile and embedded applications. AST will acquire 498 patents for gross proceeds of $350 million.
