2024 SABA North America Annual Conference

Intellectual Property partner Rajiv Patel will be speaking at the South Asian Bar Association of North America's Annual Conference on July 13th.

He will be part of a panel titled "The Transformative & Ethical Implications of Artificial Intelligence," which will discuss the ways that the continuing growth of AI is placing increased responsibility on developers, policymakers, and lawyers, with a focus on improving transparence and accountability of AI systems. The panel will focus on:

• What in-house counsel should know about implementing AI and generative AI
• How the lenses of ethics, IP, and data privacy law can impact AI implementation
• Ethical challenges of AI such as algorithmic bias, dataset sourcing, unintended harms, and unethical use of technology
• How society can balance harnessing AI to improve efficiency and innovation while respecting its limitations
